Youth exchange Erase the Hate

Participants from Greece had the opportunity to take part in a youth exchange in Strumica, North Macedonia, where they focused on the important topics of hate speech, anti-discrimination, and hate crimes. During the COVID-19 pandemic, we all witnessed how social media platforms, websites, and traditional media outlets spread harmful narratives.
These stories, often based on misinformation, transcended borders and negatively impacted people beyond Europe. The rise in media coverage fueled prejudices and stereotypes, ultimately contributing to an increase in racial and other forms of discrimination.
This, in turn, led to the proliferation of hate speech and hate crimes.
